Pneumatic, hydraulic, hydro-pneumatic press: Advantages and disadvantages

Press machines are being used for several industrial tasks. Hydraulic press machine and pneumatic press are known as the most commonly used press machines. The hydro-pneumatic press is the advanced version of press machines. Now the demand among the users of press is higher of this advanced version. Users demand the hydro-pneumatic press for their purposes.

We have always read that if any mechanism or machine contains 80 percent positive side in functionality and results, then it is a must to have a 20 percent negative side also. It doesn’t mean that the machine or mechanism or technology is poor. This is a fact that nothing is perfect in this world, the same is with this press. Along with numerous advantages these press machines also contain some disadvantages. For detailed info see below:

Pneumatic press: Pneumatic press is popular for the best precision. The press performs with great speed and serves for a longer duration. The use of the pneumatic press and pneumatic cylinders is very common these days. Hand operated manual presses are also used for some small purposes. Hand operated manual press machines are unable to produce high pressure. So the industrial requirements of too much pressure are fulfilled with pneumatic presses.

Advantages:
  • Low maintenance required for these presses.
  • Easy operation reduces time consumption and mistakes possibilities.
  • The use of dry and no- moisture air makes gives durability to the press.
Disadvantages:

We cannot say that this is a disadvantage but actually in case a higher pressure is required than pneumatic presses are not the right option. They can produce high force but not of an extreme level.

Hydraulic press: High power is required to produce sufficient pressure on tough materials. Hydraulic press manufacturers have made this press highly capable to solve this purpose. This is a liquid-based press.

Advantages:
  • Fully dependable press with multi-functionality.
  • A perfect solution for the repetitive force requirement.
  • This press can perform where pneumatic press fails to perform.
Disadvantages:

The hydraulic press works less speedily than pneumatic presses. The maintenance requirement is very often and costly. So the hydraulic press may affect on your pocket as well.

Hydro-pneumatic press: Hydro-pneumatic press is a perfect combination of oil and liquid. This press is known for its extraordinary performance and force production. The wide range of heavy industrial tasks requires the use of the hydro-pneumatic press.

Advantage:
  • A great less- expensive solution for the heaviest tasks by force production such as riveting, punching, bending and forming.
  • Quick action is another positive point for speedy performance.
  • Less complicated maintenance makes it a more approachable machine.
  • Space friendly hydro-pneumatic press is compact also
  • The hydro-pneumatic press needs half of the energy than pneumatic or hydraulic presses and performs much higher and better.
Disadvantages:

In the term of precision, the hydro-pneumatic press fails to match the tradition requirements.

After all, we can say that the machines are efficient in their respective fields. But if we think about budget-friendliness and upper-level performance than the combination of the hydro-pneumatic press serves great results.
